Dear Valued Partner,
The Kenya Revenue Authority has announced the introduction of the Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) for containerized cargo destined for Kenyan ports.
The requirement is scheduled to become mandatory on Monday, 3 August 2026.
Containerized cargo destined for Kenya will require an ACD reference code obtained at the port of loading. The code must be stated on the final Bill of Lading before the shipment arrive to Kenya.
Documents required for the ACD application:
- Draft Bill of Lading
- Commercial Invoice
- Freight Invoice
- Export Declaration
To prevent documentation issues, shipment delays, or complications at destination, shippers are advised to complete the ACD process before the cargo departs.
Our team can support you throughout the application and documentation process.
With more than 20 years of experience in the sector and a solution-oriented approach, “SCK Representation and Foreign Trade” is the only consultant and assistant for exporters to handle complicated processes including theACD for Kenya.
