Cameroon Transit BESC Requirement for Chad & CAR Update
Dear Valued Business Partner,
The Cameroonian authorities have temporarily suspended the transit BESC requirement, meaning only for transit shipments routed through Cameroon to Chad and the Central African Republic via the following corridors:
- Douala – N’Djamena corridor (Chad)
- Douala – Bangui corridor (Central African Republic)
Accordingly, transit cargo destined for Chad or the Central African Republic via these corridors is no longer required to obtain a separate Cameroon BESC for the time being.
Please note that this suspension concerns the Cameroon transit BESC requirement only. Any applicable destination-country cargo tracking, customs, or documentation requirements for Chad and the Central African Republic remain in force.
Our team remains available to assist you with confirming the correct ECTN/BESC certification requirements for your specific route and cargo.
Important: This update applies exclusively to transit shipments moving through Cameroon to Chad and the Central African Republic via the specified corridors. Shipments destined for Cameroon, Chad, or the Central African Republic continue to require the applicable BESC/ECTN certificate.
Thank you for your attention to this update.
